Like Many Airlines around the World, EL AL Increases Fuel Surcharge on Routes to North America, the Far East and Africa
The increase will be $10 on Economy Class tickets and $20 on Business Class tickets
The additional fee goes into effect on January 5, 2012
All tickets issued by January 4, 2012 will be priced according to present rates
Unlike price hikes by European airlines, fares on EL AL's European routes remain unchanged
The cost of Matmid Club bonus tickets will not
As of January 5, 2012, EL AL is updating fuel surcharges on routes to North America, the Far East and Africa, as have many other airlines around the world. Nevertheless, EL AL is allowing passengers who purchased and ticketed flight tickets by January 4, 2012 to enjoy the present fares.
Until now, EL AL refrained from updating the fuel surcharge, in contrast to many airlines around the world. Unlike the European airlines, EL AL has decided not to raise fares on its European routes. We are making every effort to continue offering our customers a choice of attractive fares. All tickets issued by January 4, 2012 will remain unchanged.
