With the Opening of the Maccabiah Games in July, EL AL is preparing a special campaign to bring thousands of athletes and other delegation members to Israel on flights from all over the world.

Maccabiah Chair Amir Peled: “The 2013 Maccabiah is going to be the biggest and most challenging of all Maccabiah events. This is the third largest sports event in the world and aims to make all its participants supporters of Israel.
“The contribution of the event to Israel’s economy and tourism and to the link between Israel and the Diaspora is tremendous. The Maccabiah views its cooperation with EL AL as a national and strategic partnership.”
The 19th Maccabiah Games are to open on July 18, 2013.
Thousands of athletes from 80 delegations around the world in 42 different sports in 4 categories (Youth, Open, Masters and Para-Olympic) will arrive in Israel to compete, meet, become acquainted and connect with one another.
During the Maccabiah, dozens of delegations will arrive in Israel on EL AL aircraft from all over the world, some on regular flights and some on special flights operated by the airline.
Delegations from all around the world will be utilizing EL AL's network from North America, Europe and the Far East.
EL AL will also operate a special designated flight from Canada, whose passengers will include the assistant coach of the Canadian basketball team, NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire, NHL star Mike Keenan and Josh Binstock, star of Canada’s beach volleyball team to the Olympics.
In all, thousands of athletes and others in their delegations are expected to arrive on EL AL flights.
