EL AL to Recruit 50 New Pilots for its 737 Fleet Meeting the Needs of Increased Operations

EL AL will soon open a pilots' course to recruit 50 new pilots for the airline’s 21 Boeing 737 aircraft. This will be EL AL's single largest recruitment since the airline’s establishment. The courses are expected to begin in November 2014.

EL AL CEO David Maimon: “In light of the airline's increased operations, including the inauguration of the new UP brand and the arrival of additional new 737-900 aircraft, we are gearing up to meet the needs of increased operations.  To this end, we are going to increase the roster of pilots to serve this fleet. By the end of the process EL AL will have trained its air crews to meet the airline's highest professional and security standards.”

At the end of the course, the pilots will complete their training and be integrated into EL AL operations during 2015.

Candidates for the pilots’ course must meet specific qualifications, among them: Israeli citizenship, completion of the Israel Air Force Flight Academy School or a civilian flight course and permanent residence in Israel. They must have suitable security qualification for the job in line with the directives of the Air Navigation Law (Security in Civil Aviation) 1977. The course is open to both men and women.
