Special Services for Passengers with Babies
Children up to age 2 (24 months) are classified "infants," and are required to travel with an escort.
Reservation Process
For your convenience, you may reserve a baby cot when booking your flight – via travel agencies, El Al offices or El Al telephone reservations centers, to allow maximal comfort on the flight and advanced reservation of a suitable seat for the parent. This service is available to passengers flying with babies up to 9 months old.
* The number of cots on each flight is limited.
Ground Service

The baby's Parents traveling to the USA and Canada are entitled to luggage measuring no more than 115 cm (45 inches) and weighing no more than 23 kilograms. To all other El Al destinations, babies are entitled to one piece of luggage weighing up to 10 kilograms. This suitcase will be stored in the hold of the plane.

Inflight Service:

The flight crew is at your service for all requests.

  • Crib: This service is available for passengers with babies up to 9 months old who ordered it in advance. After takeoff, a crib with blanket will be set up for your baby. For safety reasons, the cabin crew will remove the crib prior to landing.
  • Baby Seat (carry-cot) / Car Safety Seat: You may bring a baby seat/safety seat to all destinations, even if no babies are listed on your reservation. The baby seat/safety seat will be stored in the hold.
    • Babies up to 9 months old
      When no seat has been reserved for the baby – You may bring your baby seat to the entrance of the aircraft. For safety reasons, it cannot be brought into the plane. It will be returned to the passenger when exiting the aircraft.
    • Babies up to two years old
      When the baby has a reserved seat – It is the responsibility of the passenger accompanying a baby who has a ticket and is entitled to a seat on the aircraft to bring a safety car seat that bears the label "This restraint certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft." The parents may place the baby in the certified safety seat during takeoff and landing.
  • Other services offered by the cabin crew:
    • Heating baby food
    • Washing baby bottles
    • Providing hot water when needed
  • Diapering stand:
    For your convenience, diapering stands are available in aircraft lavatories.
  • Ground services at the destination airport:
    The cabin crew will bring the baby carriage to the exit of the aircraft.
* When traveling with a baby, it is very important to inform the travel agent or EL AL Reservations agent well in advance so that we can be prepared to offer the best possible service.
