Baggage Allowance on EL AL Flights

EL AL does its utmost to provide you with ideal flight conditions throughout your journey, so that you can enjoy a safe and comfortable flight.

In addition to the free checked baggage allowance, you may take personal items as cabin baggage at no extra charge. These items must be placed in the overhead bins or under the seat in front of you.

The size, weight and handling of personal hand luggage in the passenger cabin all impact on your in-flight comfort and safety. Therefore, size and weight limits have been established for every piece of hand luggage permitted on board the plane, according to the class of reservation or ticket.

When storing space is limited, passengers may be asked to check-in their hand bag.

EL AL requests that you do not include any identification documents, fragile items or valuables in your checked baggage. It is recommended that such items should be carried on-board in your hand luggage.

Details of baggage limits for storage in the hold of the plane:

  • The information below relates to all EL AL destinations on EL AL planes and does not apply to code share flights with other carriers on which baggage allowance will be offered in accordance with the travel route.
  • The information relates to cases when EL AL is considered as the Most Significant Carrier (MSC).
  • Personal baggage allowance is according to the class of reservation or ticket.

Economy Class

The sum of the 3 dimensions shallnot exceed 158 cm (62 inches)

Business Class

2 Pieces of Baggage Up to 32 kilos each (70 Pounds)

The sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 158 cm (62 inches)

First Class

3 Pieces of Baggage Up to 32 kilos each (70 Pounds)

The sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 158 cm (62 inches)

Infants

1 piece Up to 10kg

The sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 115 cm (45 inches)

Infants

Parents traveling with a baby are entitled to bring a fully
collapsible stroller oran infant’s carry-seat or a car seat.

The baby carriage may be used up to the aircraft entrance door,
it will then be sent down to the baggage hold.
If you have a carry cot or safety seat, it will be tagged
at check-in and sent directly to the hold.

If a passenger flies without a baby but brings an infant seat
or carrier, the equipment will be counted as part of the
passenger's baggage allowance.

  • The sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 158 cm. Passengers flying with baggage whose dimensions exceed 158cm – 277cm will be charged an additional fee of 100 USD (in all Classes).
  • A fee of 170 USD will be charged for each piece of baggage that exceeds the size allowance (up to 277cm) and the weight allowance (up to 32 kilos).
  • Passengers flying with baggage whose dimensions exceed 277cm

  • Passengers flying with more than 5 pieces of baggage
    should contact EL AL Cargo in advance at +972-3-9771111.
  • Government service TAX of 4.944% will apply on transactions for services from BOMBAY to TEL AVIV and will be collected in India.
  • All the above information refers to El Al flights on El Al aircraft and excludes code-share and other carrier's flights.
