Israel Heritage bicycle tour - 8 days of cycling on the paths of the Bible in the Holy Land

In Biblical times, the only forms of transport were by foot or by donkey or camel. Over the years, the foot paths turned into caravan trails and eventually evolved into the roads we travel today. By bike, one can travel these roads and paths, going through the same villages and valleys traveled by our ancestors. Explore the Galilee, the Judean hills and Jerusalem self powered on your own bicycle. Program is full board.

Day 1: Land at Ben-Gurion Airport, transfer to Nazareth. Spend the afternoon and evening touring the ancient home of Jesus.
Day 2: Leaving Nazareth behind us we will head to Kfar Cana, where the "marriage at Cana" took place according to the Gospel of John. From there we will head east towards the Sea of Galilee. We will spend the night on the shore of the Lake.
Day 3: Today will be devoted to cycling around the Sea of Galilee and its many historical sites. We will visit Biblical locations such as Capernaum, Mount of the Beatitudes, the Church of the Loaves and the Fishes, in the evening we will transfer to the sources of the River Jordan.
Day 4: We begin today at the source of the Jordan -- Beit Tsida. We will ride alongside the river on an ancient route, off road. We will stop from time to time to swim in the river. At the end of the day, we will transfer to Tel Aviv by coach and spend the night there.
Day 5: Our day will begin at the ancient port of Jaffa, where Jonah attempted to escape the Lord. From there, we will continue through the churches of Ramla to the Judean hills. After a long climb, we will arrive in Jerusalem, capital of Israel and center of all three monotheistic religions.
Day 6: We will devote today to ancient Jerusalem by bike and on foot. We will visit the Biblical locations of the story of Jesus in Jerusalem. From the Mount of Olives to the Old City, following the "Via Delarosa", stopping at the twelve Stations of the Cross, Mt. Zion and the Quarters of the Walled City.
Day 7: West Jerusalem, the Capital of the State of Israel. We will cycle through the city streets to the new neighborhoods, the parliament, Mt. Herzl and the Yad Va-Shem Holocaust museum.
Day 8: Free time in Jerusalem, as time permits, and transfer to Ben- Gurion Airport in time for your outward flight.

Enjoy the classical tour of Israel, on your bike. See the ancient and modern sights, while experiencing a true connection to every village and market through which busses fly. Meet the people on the side of the road, and arrive at the site with a feeling that you know where you are and who populates the land. Program is full board.

Day 1: Transfer from the Airport to the western Galilee.
Day 2: Cycle to the Crusader city of Acre (Acco), and continue through agricultural communities to the city of Nazareth, biblical home of Jesus.
Day 3: Ride from Nazareth to the Sea of Galilee. Stop on the way at the main points of interest of the story of Jesus in the Galilee. Arrive to the beaches of the Sea of Galilee in the city of Tiberius. Transfer to Tel Aviv by coach.
Day 4: Enjoy the bike paths and city streets of Tel Aviv. Visit the ancient port of Jaffa and its colorful outdoor markets. We will stop at points of interest and get a wide picture of the first Hebrew City, the commercial capital of Israel.
Day 5: Through the side roads of the Judean hills, we will slowly climb from the coast via the mountains, to Jerusalem.
Day 6: Jerusalem: we will spend the day visiting points of interest in the 3000 year old capital of Israel. We will ride into the narrow alleys of the Old City, visit Mt. Zion, ride through the center of modern Jerusalem to the Parliament and Mt. Herzl.
Day 7: Transfer in the morning to Kibutz Ein Gedi, on the shore of the Dead Sea. We will ride along the coast of this unique geological phenomenon, to Masada, place of one of the last battles between the Jews and Romans 2000 years ago. After a visit to the site we will return to Jerusalem by coach.
Day 8: Free time in Jerusalem, as time permits and transfer to the Airport.
