Guidelines for carrying liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) in hand luggage
A number of countries and territories have recently introduced regulations restricting the carrying of LAGs in hand luggage.
For your guidance and convenience, below is a table setting out the position in several countries. We have made every effort to obtain information from various countries but absolute accuracy is not possible owing to a lack of information or changes in the requirements.
Different countries may have different requirements and requirements change from time to time. It remains your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the requirements relating to permitted and prohibited items of the country or countries of your destination or departure. EL AL is not responsible for losses, discomfort or expenses you may incur if security personnel confiscate any of your items.
Please note that the fact that a country may not be listed in the table does not mean that it has no regulations. It remains your responsibility to check the requirements for that country.
To assist you, we suggest that:
- For the latest USA requirements, go to "TSA" on the internet and on the first page enter: "View our Permitted & Prohibited Items".
- For the EU rules on liquids, please go to:
and enter "new EU security rules at airports. Please also read the press releases and memos.
- For the South African rules on LAGs, please go to:http://www.acsa.co.za
