1. How can I join the "Matmid" ? Log on to our web site at: www.elal.co.il and click on Club enrollment under the Frequent Flyer Banner. There is a one-time $20 Club enrollment fee. Children age two and up are eligible for membership.
2. How many points are earned on each flight?

3. HOW LONG ARE POINTS GOOD FOR?
Points are accumulated within a 3-year period for a bonus ticket or upgrade and need to be claimed within this 3-year period. Points expire after 3 years. Once the points are redeemed with a bonus voucher, the voucher is good for an additional year to use for the ticket or upgrade (see number 7).
4. HOW MANY “MATMID” POINTS ARE REQUIRED FOR A BONUS TICKET OR AN UPGRADE?

5. WHAT CAN I DO IF I DON’T HAVE ALL THE POINTS NEEDED TO GET A BONUS TICKET OR UPGRADE?
As long as you have half the points required you can buy the additional points missing for $1.00 a point. No more than 1000 points can be purchased.
6. HOW DO I BOOK A BONUS TICKET OR UPGRADE?
Call your travel agent or contact our Reservations Department. Please make sure they book you in the following classes of service:

Only M & Y Class Economy airfares can be upgraded with a bonus voucher to Business Class and only C Class Business air fares can be upgraded with a voucher to First Class
7. HOW DO I RECEIVE A BONUS TICKET OR UPGRADE?
You must first have a bonus voucher issued from your account. To do so please call your Travel Agent or our reservations department.
8. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A VOUCHER?
TWO WEEKSTo receive a rush voucher 3 business days from the date the voucher is requested, a RUSH fee of $50.00 per voucher may apply. No vouchers will be issued under 3 business days.
9. CAN I GIVE A BONUS VOUCHER TO WHOMEVER I WANT?
YES. Their name must be specified on the voucher.
10. CAN I COMBINE MY POINTS WITH ANOTHER MEMBER’S ACCOUNT TO OBTAIN A FREE TICKET OR UPGRADE?
NO.
11. HOW CAN I FIND OUT MY ACCOUNT BALANCE?
Go to the EL AL website and click on “Club Account Information” under the Frequent Flyer banner. You must have your seven-digit Matmid number and pin code to access your account.
12. IF I FLY EL AL MORE THAN THE AVERAGE MEMBER WILL I RECEIVE EXTRA PRIVILEGES?
YES.EL AL has 4 tiers within the Matmid Club. Matmid (TL), Matmid Silver (SL), Matmid Gold (GL) and Matmid Platinum (PL). Silver, Gold and Platinum Members receive extra pri0vileges such as:
- Additional point accrual
- Priority on wait lists for EL AL flights
- Guaranteed seating in Y Economy Class fares 72hours before your flight.
13. I AM A SILVER/GOLD/PLATINUM CLUB MEMBER, WHAT FARES MUST I PURCHASE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A “LAST MINUTE” UPGRADE?
For a ”Last Minute” upgrade to Business Class you must buy an M or Y Class fare & for First Class you must buy an I or C Class fare.
Please note: Only Silver, Gold and Platinum members are eligible for a “Last Minute” upgrade 72 hours before a flight and only Gold & Platinum members are eligible for a ”Last Minute” upgrade at the airport. Children (no matter what level of membership) are NOT eligible for a “Last Minute” upgrade.
