Gold Tier

Membership in the Gold Tier will be awarded if you accumulate 2000 points or more from EL AL flights only during 12 consecutive months (basic points).
Membership will be renewed, one year from the day it was awarded, to members who have accumulated 1800 points or more on EL AL flights only (basic points) during that year

Gold Tier benefits

Gold membership allows you to continue enjoying the benefits awarded to all Matmid members and Silver members and also earns you additional special benefits:

Complimentary membership in the King David Club, including preferential check-in at the King David Club counters and entry to EL AL's Lounges
An additional 25% on all points accumulated on EL AL flights (the additional points are also valid for bonus tickets and upgrades and are not counted for priority lists and towards renewing your Gold Tier status or receiving Platinum Tier status or eligibility for reduced-price last-minute upgrades).
Guaranteed seating in Economy Class up to 48 hours before a flight for tickets in Y Class (except during Holiday periods; on code-share flights; on EL AL's flights to/from Eilat; on special group flights; and under unusual circumstances that are not under EL AL's control).
Gold Tier members have a carry-on luggage allowance of one suitcase (of standard size) + a portable computer in Economy Class, with a combined weight of up to 12 kilograms.

As a preferred customer, you now enjoy an exclusive benefit that enables you to utilize your bonus vouchers in a Class that is not subject to availability of allocated bonus seats, for one and a half times the number of points.
This benefit allows you to utilize your bonus ticket in Economy Class even when the quota of allocated bonus seats has been filled. The benefit is conditional on availability in H class. the required number of points for utilizing these vouchers can be supplemented with money; it is also possible to transfer these vouchers to family members or anyone else. Enjoy an additional exceptional benefit – an assured-in-advance upgrade to Business Class, including for tickets purchased in Economy Class, at a much lower fare than in the past. It is now possible to upgrade a ticket purchased in B class (for North America) or Q class (for other destinations) , rather than in M or S class respectively, for double the number of points, and thus assure your seat on the flight in advance, saving you precious waiting time
