EL AL is pleased to announce the inauguration of direct flights from Israel to South America. The first flight, EL AL LY009 will depart Israel on Saturday night, May 2, 2009 and will land in Sao Paulo, Brazil 14 hours and 45 minutes later.

Flight 009 will depart from Israel 3 times weekly: Saturday at 10:45pm, Monday and Wednesday at 9:45pm. All flights are on modern Boeing 777 aircraft, providing a comfortable and pleasant night flight and easy landing in the morning on the most exciting continent in the world.  

Return flights will depart Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 7:15pm from Sao Paulo and will arrive at Ben-Gurion Airport the next day at 2:55pm, about 13 hours and 45 minutes later.

Advance upgrade on the Sao Paulo route only:
If you have upgraded your flight ticket in advance from Economy Class to Business Class (using an advance upgrade voucher), you should book your Business Class flight at the W class fare (instead of D class as on other routes).
In addition, W class will serve as the basis for bonus tickets in Business Class.
