Fuel Surcharge DECREASE effective 01 January 2009

Due to the decrease in fuel prices, EL AL has had to take the action of decreasing the fuel surcharge to its tickets.  The new surcharge will come into immediate effect on 01 January 2009, for journeys originating on/after 01 January 2009.

The surcharge must be reflected in the fare calculation as an additional collection & not as a Government airport tax.  This thus makes the Fuel Surcharge commissionable, as it is part of the airfare.  The below surcharge applies to all journeys originating from South Africa:

** There will now be only 1 Fuel Surcharge rate for Economy and Business class fares as follows  -   ZAR1500 per leg.
** There is a Fuel Surcharge applicable for other routings.  Please refer to your CRS for these amounts.
Passengers who are connecting with another EL AL flight within 24hrs are exempt from the Fuel Surcharge for that leg.

Children - full imposition of the surcharge.
Exemptions:  Infants ONLY. No other exemptions apply.

Our domestic add-ons with BA/Comair & SAA also have a Fuel Surcharge.  Please contact them in this regard.
