NEW “ART & LOUNGE” AT NEWARK LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT OPENS DOORS FOR EL AL PREMIUM PASSENGERS
One-of-a-kind Lounge Featuring Curated Art & Design Installations, Well-being Inspired Menus, Business Services & More
NEW YORK – November 20, 2013 – EL AL Israel Airlines announces the opening of "Art & Lounge," the newest lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport which will host the airline’s premium passengers flying to Israel. Located on the Gate Level of Terminal B nearby the EL AL check-in counters and next to duty free, the spacious lounge serves as a setting for changing exhibitions of contemporary Israeli art and video art that enriches the passengers’ visual cultural experience.
The Luxury Lounges Ltd. Company established the lounge and curated the space with high expectations for the design and art installations. Intended to offer an oasis of comfort and convenience, the lounge has seating for 90 guests on modern-designed couches and chairs in various seating arrangements, complimentary Wi-Fi and business services, as well as Hebrew and English language newspapers and magazines.
In addition to Kosher refreshments, a freshly prepared dairy buffet selection of fruits, a vegetable salad bar, cheese, breads, as well as sweet and salty baked goods are offered. A “health corner” has granola, dried fruit, yogurt and silan (dates and honey). In addition to cappuccino and espresso, other hot and cold beverages such as red and white wine plus beer are served.
This rich and varied culinary menu was designed by Israeli food expert Shmulik Markus, CEO of Restotel, a leading consulting firm in Israel specializing in the hospitality industry and quality culinary solutions. Integrating an innovative approach to well-being, Markus created a menu specifically catering to the needs of a pre-boarding passenger to ensure a comfortable flight.
In a continuing effort to expose our guests to various mediums with thought provoking messages, the lounge’s current curated art installation called Window Seat was specially arranged for the inauguration. This exhibit, created by Israeli artists, gives expression to airport movement and vitality. The video art is displayed on several flat screen TV’s of different dimensions.
“This new lounge meets the high standards of service and comfort as well as quality food offerings that we provide to our passengers. To enhance the total EL AL experience, we are pleased to offer this trend-setting pre-flight experience in a contemporary and serene atmosphere,” stated Daniel Saadon, Vice President, EL AL, North and Central America.
