NEW YORK – Oct 3, 2013 – EL AL, Israel’s national airline, has invested more than $320 million in its fleet renewal program, purchasing six of the most advanced and sophisticated narrow body aircraft in the world. The first will arrive in Israel this month, the second in December and four more in early 2016.
The new Boeing 737-900ER aircraft will enable EL AL to increase frequencies to existing destinations on short and medium distance routes between Israel and Europe, thereby serving as a growth engine.
These aircraft will provide a state-of-the-art flight experience for passengers. Throughout the aircraft, mood lighting and the interior design will create a special modern atmosphere.
Each aircraft has 16 Business Class seats which are equipped with comfortable Millennium seats. In Economy Class, there are 156 Pinnacle slim, lightweight seats. All seats are produced with the newest technology and ergonomic cushions by B/E Aerospace. To create a work-and leisure-supportive environment, all passengers will have access to electrical outlets and USB connections. For passengers with carry-on luggage, oversized baggage bins will be available.
