ISRAEL’S AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED NATIONS MEETS WITH EL AL PRESIDENT
TO INSCRIBE LETTER IN AIRLINE’S SEFER TORAH


New York, NY – December 17, 2012 – EL AL Israel Airlines recently ventured to the United Nations where Ron Prosor, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, inscribed a letter in the airline’s coveted Sefer Torah. Since its launch two years ago, the EL AL Sefer Torah has traveled all over the world with EL AL President Eleyzer Shkedy. Thousands of people have inscribed a letter in the Torah, including the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu; the President of Israel, Shimon Peres; Noble Prize winner Eli Weisel, as well as leading Rabbi's and politicians.
In Washington, D.C., the Torah was also signed by several US Senators, including Joe Lieberman and Deborah Wasserman Schultz.

The Torah, which contains 304,805 letters in 249 columns, will be completed in May 2013 at a ceremony in the synagogue located on the premises of the EL AL Head Office at Ben Gurion Airport.
