TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY SPIRIT, RECIPES AND TREATS
EL AL is sharing the spirit of Chanukah with passengers by serving festive holiday treats, sufganiot (jelly donuts) and latkes (potato pancakes) on flights between the USA and Israel. From the USA, more than 1600 potatoes and 460 pounds of raspberry jam as well as 77 cups of cinnamon will be used to prepare the traditional holiday delicacies. These will also be served in EL AL King David premium class lounges throughout the world, in addition to the snacks that are usually offered. A menorah lighting ceremony in the lounges will also be held nightly throughout the holiday.
Those looking to create these sumptuous holiday goodies at home can prepare the easy-to-follow recipes from the Executive Chef of Borenstein Caterers (a subsidiary of EL AL), Steven Weintraub.
