EL AL Chairman and EL AL President/CEO Host Top Boeing Executive on First Visit to Israel


New York, December 19, 2011 – EL AL Chairman Amikam Cohen and President/CEO Elyezer Shkedy recently hosted in Israel Jim Albaugh, the executive vice president of The Boeing Company and president/CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Many issues covering the international aviation situation as well as the EL AL fleet renewal were discussed.  ”We are proud to host Jim Albaugh on his first visit to Israel. EL AL and Boeing have an excellent, long-standing partnership and EL AL has an all-Boeing fleet,” said EL AL President/CEO Elyezer Shkedy.  “We recently announced an order of four to eight modern 737-900 aircraft and hope to continue investing in wide-body planes for the USA/Israel route.”

Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company, Jim Albaugh added: “We are pleased to be here today, celebrating our partnership with EL AL, a leading international airline.   I hope our cooperation will continue for many more years and that the EL AL fleet will remain all Boeing aircraft.
