New York, NY – February 15, 2011 EL AL Israel Airlines was recently awarded the Make-A-Wish International Partnership Award for outstanding service.

The airline and its employees were recognized for its commitment and assistance to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Israel, an international organization whose mission is to grant the wishes of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.  In addition, EL AL encourages members of its Matmid Frequent Flyer Club to donate accumulated points via the EL AL USA web site ( to help Make-A-Wish children fly abroad and enjoy a memorable getaway during a difficult time in their lives.

At the award ceremony in Orlando, Florida, Make-A-Wish Israel CEO Adi Albala stated, “EL AL has always been the backbone of our foundation, especially during ‘rush’ wishes when children are in a deep life threatening situation and their wishes need to be granted immediately. EL AL consistently has an open ear and always cooperates fully to best accommodate the travel plans of the child and their family at the most crucial times.”
