EL AL and Ethiopian Airlines Sign Codeshare Agreement for the Tel Aviv – Addis Ababa Route
As part of the airlines’ cooperative agreement, EL AL will offer flight tickets to several destinations in Africa.
EL AL Vice President Commercial and Aviation Ties David Maimon: “We are pleased to link up with the second largest airline in Africa, Ethiopian Airlines. Through this partnership, EL AL will offer a large choice of destinations for both the commercial and the tourist market and an opportunity to open the way for the resort market including safari tours in various nature reserves and beach destinations such as Zanzibar and the Seychelles Islands.
The agreement expands and significantly improves the network of continuation destinations in Africa, making it now possible to fly to Africa on direct flights to Johannesburg or Addis Ababa and then on to dozens of continuation destinations on the continent with convenient connections in both directions.”
EL AL has signed a codeshare agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for the Tel Aviv – Addis Ababa route and is offering a wide selection of destinations in Africa.
Ethiopian Airlines operates 5 weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Addis Ababa on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The new codeshare agreement will meet the needs of the commercial market regarding flight connections, a flexible timetable and a wide network of destinations.
Ethiopian Airlines flights to and from Israel connect to 30 continuation destinations on the African continent.
Sales of flight tickets will begin on January 13, 2014 for departures beginning January 27, 2014.
The codeshare will operate on flights to Addis Ababa in Economy Class and Business Class.
Flights will begin at $669 in Economy Class and $2169 in Business Class.
Members of the Matmid Frequent Flyer Club will earn points on flights to Addis Ababa.
