El Al is preparing to fly hundreds of thousands of tourists to and from Israel in the lead-up to Rosh Hashana of 5774 and throughout the holiday period –
EL AL has added around 25,000 seats to New York, Bangkok, London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Athens, and Kiev, adding a total of 65 flights
EL AL is preparing to provide service to hundreds of thousands of travelers who are expected to pass through the gates of terminal 3 during the holiday period, and is offering pre-flight services at Ben-Gurion Airport or Express Check service and internet check-in in order to save valuable time
In order to avoid potential congestion at Ben-Gurion Airport during the month of September, travelers are requested to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to their scheduled flight time.
Around 240,000 Israelis are expected to fly out of Israel during September on EL AL flights on vacations abroad.
An “air convoy” will fly over 4,000 Israelis from Israel to the Ukraine starting today, in order to celebrate Rosh Hashana in Uman.
Around 100,000 tourists are expected to arrive in Israel during September – the majority of them from New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Rome, and Milan.
The most popular destinations again this year are destinations in North America (New York, Los Angeles and Toronto), Johannesburg, European destinations (London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Madrid and Barcelona) and destinations in the far east (Hong Kong, Beijing and Bangkok)
David Maimon, VP Commerce and Aviation Relations at EL AL said today: “The holiday period during the month of Tishrei this year has a lot of holidays during the week and a low number of work days. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis will take advantage of this attractive period for an extended vacation abroad. As always, we are adding flights to North America, the Far East and European destinations.”
Around 240,000 Israelis are expected to fly on EL AL flights during September, the holiday month.
Around 54% of them are expected to fly to destinations in Western Europe, and 18% to destinations in Eastern Europe.
Around 14% will fly to the U.S. and around 13% of Israelis are expected to fly to destinations in the Far East and South Africa.
Around 100,000 tourists are expected to arrive in Israel on EL AL flights during September – 50% of them from Western Europe, mainly England and France; 25% from the U.S.; and 19% from Eastern Europe, most of them from the former Soviet countries.
EL AL is preparing to provide service to passengers who are expected to fly with EL AL over the course of September. EL AL has even added staff to its ground crew in Terminal 3 and at EL AL destinations abroad.
An “air convoy” will fly over 4,000 Israelis from Israel to the Ukraine during September, in order to celebrate Rosh Hashana in Uman. Flights will depart from Tel Aviv to Kiev from the 1st-3rd of September. Returns flights to Tel Aviv will depart Kiev on the 8th-10th of September.
