Humidity in the passenger cabin is maintained at less than 25% because of the low humidity in the outside air supplied to the cabin. Low humidity may cause dryness of the nose, throat and eyes, and may also irritate the eyes of those wearing contact lenses.
Therefore we recommend:
- Drink water and juices frequently during the flight.
- Limit consumption of coffee, tea and alcohol. These drinks are diuretic, causing fluid loss and increasing body dehydration.
- Contact lens wearers – if your eyes feel irritated, remove your lenses and wear glasses.
- Use products to moisturize and freshen your skin
